CAA to facilitate hanger for private airlines – BSS

DHAKA, Mar 22, 2016 (BSS)- Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said the government will facilitate hangers for the aircrafts of country’s private airlines.

“In the new plan, adequate space was allocated to set up hangers for the private airlines. I have already given directives to the Civil Aviation Authority to start work in this regard,” he said.

Menon said the government is willing to provide space for hangers as these are essential for the airlines to maintain highest level of compliance regarding flight safety.

The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of inclusion of three new ATR aircraft and lunching of three new domestic destinations of Novoair at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here.

The minister said the government would like to see the private airlines are expanding their international routes.”We have a captive market here. The foreign airlines are taking the fruits of this market,” he added.

Menon said his ministry is also considering reduction of landing fees and surcharges for the private airlines so that they can strengthen their position in the aviation business.

Noting many private airlines had suspended their operations after few years of inception, the minister urged the entrepreneurs to enter the aviation business conducting proper feasibility study.

Newly appointed chairman of Civil Aviation Authority,Bangladesh (CAA,B) Air Vice-Marshal Ehsanul Ghani Chowdhury, outgoing chairman M Sanaul Huq and Managing Director of Novoair Mofizur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.

Recently Novoair purchased three 68-seat ATR 72-500 aircraft and put them into operation of twice daily flights on Dhaka-Saidpur-Dhaka route and going to start three flights a week on Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka route from April 1 and four weekly flights on Dhaka-Barishal-Dhaka routes.

“With the new destination, Novoair has now covered all seven domestic destinations,” said Mofizaur.

The Novoair chief said passengers of Chittagong, Jessore, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Barishal can now travel across the country by connecting flights touching Dhaka with only Taka 6000. “This will benefit tourism and contribute in expansion of business,” he said.

Novoair also operates three weekly flights to Yangon, Maynmar, and plans to lunch flights to Guwahati and Kolkata of India and Kathmandu of Nepal.

Happy Inauguration of ATR Fleet of NOVOAIR – Press Release

NOVOAIR, the premium and largest private airline of Bangladesh, has added three new ATR 72-500 aircraft in its fleet. The three 68 seater ATR 72-500 aircraft were officially inaugurated by Mr. Rashed Khan Menon MP, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism in the conference room of HSIA, Tuesday. Moreover, operation of Saidpur, Barisal and Rajshahi flights were also inaugurated at the event. This inclusion increased NOVOAIR’s aircraft count to 6.

AVM M Sanaul Huq, outgoing Chairman and AVM Ehsanul Gani Chowdhury, newly appointed Chairman of CAAB, high officials of HSIA, EBL and NOVOAIR were present at the occasion.

Daily 2 flights are being operated to Saidpur, said Mr. Mofizur Rahman, MD of NOVOAIR. In addition to that, from 1 April weekly three flights to Rajshahi and from 2 April weekly four flights to Barisal will be operated. With this NOVOAIR has now covered all 7 domestic destinations.

He said, esteemed passengers of Chittagong, Jessore, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Barisal can now travel across the country by connecting flights touching Dhaka with only 6000 taka. This will benefit not only tourism, but also businesses be expanded – he hoped.

NOVOAIR launches flights on Dhaka-Saidpur route – UNB

Dhaka, Mar 17 (UNB) – NOVOAIR, one of the private airlines operating in Bangladesh, has started operating flights on Dhaka–Saidpur route.

The first flight carrying 66 passengers took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday morning.

NOVOAIR Managing Director Mofizur Rahman along with other high officials congratulated passengers of the premiere flight.

Another event on the occasion of launching new flights was held in Saidpur Airport, said a press release.

MP (Nilphamari-4) Md Sawkat Chowdhury, Managing Director Mofizur Rahman, Head of Marketing and Sales Sohail Majid, Manager Marketing and Sales AKM Mahfuzul Haque, Saidpur Airport Manager Shahin Ahmed, government officials of Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Rangpur as well as travel agents, other officials of Saidpur Airport and other airlines were present.

Two flights will be operated daily and the lowest fare is fixed at Tk 3200.

A “buy one get one” offer is active for Dhaka-Saidpur route for the first month of operation.

Novoair starts Saidpur flight – BSS

DHAKA, Mar 17, 2016 (BSS) – NOVOAIR, one of the private airlines of Bangladesh today started its operation on Dhaka-Saidpur-Dhaka route.

The first flight, consisting 66 passengers took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) this morning, a press release said.

Novoair will operate two flights daily from Dhaka-Saidpur-Dhaka route with a lowest fare of Taka 3200.

A “buy one get one” offer is active for Saidpur route for the first month of operation.

Passengers can travel Saidpur to Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet and Jessore via connecting flights touching Dhaka with a fare as low as Tk 6000, the release said.

Novoair Managing Director Mofizur Rahman along with Head of Marketing and Sales Mr. Sohail Majid and other high officials welcomed passengers of the premiere flight at HISA this morning.

The passengers of the first flight were received by local Member of Parliament Sawkat Chowdhury at a ceremony at Saidpur airport.

Currently, Novoair operates flights from Dhaka to Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Jessore and Sylhet and as international routes it operates 3 weekly flights to Yangon, Myanmar.

The release said leftover domestic destinations like Rajshahi and Barisal and regional destinations such as different states of India and Nepal will be connected into NOVOAIR network soon.
